When I first came across the suggestion, I thought it was ludicrous. “Why on earth would I want to create my own attack?” But as I was studying the nature of anxiety and panic attacks, during my recovery, the sobering — somewhat bitter — truth was starring me right in my face. Unpleasant as it may be to acknowledge, it is a fact; we do create our own attacks.

The purpose of this article is to help you dissect the progression of a panic attack from inception to a full blown attack so you, too, can become aware of the role that you play in the creation of your own attacks and seek the proper treatment.

Panic attacks manifest as a result of our distorted thinking, even though to us they may seem to appear out of nowhere.

When we understand how panic attacks are born it becomes clear that the attack itself is actually a normal emotional response to a barrage of physical symptoms, caused by anxiety. And although those bodily sensations are never dangerous, it is our belief and conviction to the contrary that hasten and bring about the attacks.

The Problem Is In Your Perception and Interpretation. After his first attack in a supermarket Joe had developed an acute fear of going to shop at that store. One morning, before leaving the house, his wife hands him a shopping list and asks him to make sure he takes care of it before she returns.

The thought that he has to revisit that supermarket runs shivers through his spine. He is getting anxious, but he decides to dare it anyway. The supermarket is just down the block, but before he even arrives he begins to feel his heart racing. He gets scared and tells himself “I am going to have a heart attack.”

He experiences lightheadedness and the first thought that crosses his mind is: “I am going to faint.”

His anxiety intensifies, producing even more physical sensations. Thoughts of doom and gloom rush through his mind: “I will lose control and do something crazy. I will faint before I make it home,” he tells himself >>> Panic!

What went wrong? Why did he panic?

The answer is simple: Joe misinterpreted his bodily sensations; he really believed his life was in peril.

Anxiety produces different bodily symptoms, all of which are associated with the fight and flight response. Here are some:

• Racing heart
• Feeling weak, faint or light headed
• Tingling or numbness in the hands and fingers
• Sweaty or having chills
• Chest pains
• Breathing difficulties and others

None of these symptoms is ever dangerous; Panic attacks never causes you to hav a heart attack, faint, lose control, suffocate, or go crazy. Never! and it is scientifically proven.

So What to Do?

A good place to begin is to recall all the horrible thoughts you have had of all the catastrophic things you told yourself were going to happen to you when you were experiencing high anxiety. Had any one of them ever manifested? You have never fainted, lost control, had a heart attack or suffocated as a result of any of your attacks. And… you are still sane.

Recovery is possible only when you realize and are able to believe on a deeper level that the physical symptoms are produced by your anxiety and that they are not going to harm you no matter what. When such a conviction is established you no longer fear the symptoms and once your fear is gone so do the attacks.

I have tried lots of different ways to cope or possibly cure my anxiety and thought I should share a few things that have worked for me.

One thing I learned is that the adrenal glands are very important in understanding anxiety. They are responsible for dealing with stress to the body in whatever form it takes. That means both mental and physical stress. In order to help your anxiety, you need to improve your adrenal health. Anxiety is almost always a sign of adrenal fatigue or overload.

The first thing you need to do is support your adrenal glands with the supplements below:

Vitamin C (2,000-4,000 mg/day)

Vitamin E w/mixed tocopherols (800 IU/day)

Vitamin B100 complex

Pantothenic acid (1200-1500 mg/day)

Magnesium citrate (800-1200 mg)

Liquid trace minerals

Adrenal Glandular

Two excellent herbs that will support your adrenal glands and give you immediate relief are ashwagandha and Siberian ginseng. Ashwagandha has been shown to have a sedating effect on the body and helps to rebuild the digestive and nervous system. I especially like using it to help me fall asleep when I’m feeling restless at bedtime. Siberian ginseng has been used traditionally to stimulate and nourish the adrenal glands and increase mental alertness. I like taking this in the morning.

I have also benefited from adding salt to my diet. First thing in the morning and before that time of day when you’re the most tired, put 1/8 to 1/2 teaspoonful of sea salt or Celtic salt into an 8 oz. glass of water and drink. I know you’ve been told salt isn’t good for you but if your adrenal glands are not functioning up to par you most likely have a sodium deficiency. Sea salt or Celtic salt are so much better for you than table salt and also supply up to 80 other minerals.

Adrenal fatigue can also cause low blood sugar or hypoglycemia, so eliminating all sugars from your diet will help tremendously. Instead of three meals a day eat five to six smaller meals or snacks throughout the day to keep your blood sugar balanced and you will feel better. Make sure these snacks are healthy foods with an equal ratio of fats, proteins and complex carbs.

You will do much better on a high protein diet along with healthy sources of saturated fats such as butter, coconut oil, and olive oil. Eliminate or reduce the amount of coffee you drink as it stimulates the adrenals and can cause further stress. For the same reason also avoid chocolate.

If you find yourself in the middle of a panic attack, here are some tips to help you get through it.

First thing you need to do, believe it or not, is relax. Sit down or lay down immediately. Begin to breath in very slowly and then exhale very slowly. Tell yourself that everything is alright. I thought this sounded so simplistic the first time I heard it, but it works. If you respond to the panic attack you begin to fuel the attack and make it worse.

As most panic attacks are caused by a dive in blood sugar you should then drink a glass or two of diluted fruit juice (all fruit no sugar). This will quickly bring your blood sugar back up to normal and you’ll feel a lot better. Eat something after the juice that has a combination of protein, fat and complex carbs. This will make sure that your blood sugar will not drop again right away.

I have found that supporting my adrenal glands with the above supplements, herbs and diet has stopped my panic attacks completely and has improved my anxiety greatly. I’m enjoying how calm I feel and I’m loving it.

Thousands have successfully recovered already and you can be the next one.

Would you like to get control over your anxiety?

Anxiety can hardly be cured with medication, as far as I have experienced, medication did not help me at all, however deep relaxation methods, yoga, exercises and a healthy diets will help you stop your anxiety and panic attacks. Learning how to master your thoughts is what will cure your anxiety. Hundreds of outdated techniques like “deep breathing methods” or hypnosis are all over the web, those techniques have not proved effectiveness at all and you might know this already.

I woke up one day, sick and tired of my anxiety and panic attacks, made up my mind to find the cure, no matter what it takes. Really life does not go on when you are having panic attacks daily. I conquered my anxiety for good, and I am sure you are curious to find out how I managed it. The answer is Panic Away, one of the most advanced panic treatments available at the moment. Panic away includes one-on-one coaching, several relaxation techniques that most practitioners have never implemented.

The methods described in this program are very simple to follow, no medication is needed at all, every single technique is natural and guaranteed. It will stop the cycle of anxiety and help you gain your life back, and you can join right away and start treating your anxiety right from the comfort of your own home.

I have suffered from anxiety for the past half decade, now I am happy that I managed to recover completely. Medication did not help me at all, instead things were getting worse. It is hard to believe but I managed to overcome my anxiety and panic attacks in less than two weeks, ten days to be more precise. I never thought I would be able to cure myself and nothing seemed to help me at that time, the answer was Panic Away.

Will medication ever cure my anxiety completely?

I am not saying medication will not help at all, it will relief your stress and emotions but it is not the cure. Do you still want to enjoy your life as you did before? Are you serious about recovering yourself from anxiety and panic attacks? Do you want to live your life without the fear that you will have another panic attack? Then you really need to take action, and follow the right methods to stop your anxiety.

Do you want to learn how to free yourself from anxiety and panic attacks?

There ARE differences though.

In fact, the right treatment for you will be based on these differences. This will help you to respond much better to treatment and help you recover much quicker.

What’s The Difference Between A Panic Attack And An Anxiety Attack?

A couple of major differences between panic and anxiety attacks are the duration and intensity of these attacks. Panic attacks can be sudden, fast and severe and generally last for a short time.

A panic attack can hit you without any warning, or, out of the blue. There may not be an apparent reason. It affects your body as well as your mind. It can also lead to agoraphobia.

Anxiety attacks builds up gradually, last longer and is not as intense. It can be caused by excessive worry about everything, particularly about your life. This anxiety can get out of hand and cause physical sensations as well.

Another major difference is to do with that PRECISE moment. A panic attack makes you scared about what is happening to you and your body at that very moment and is not because of worrying about events in your life.

That’s why, most panic attack sufferers rush to the emergency room, because they think they’re having a heart attack or that something else is physically wrong with them.

Differences In Treatment: Anxiety Attack Vs Panic Attack

Though the medications used may generally be the same, for panic attacks, it’s best to start at a lower dose. There may also be a difference as far as therapy is concerned.

Cognitive behavioral therapy is helpful for panic attacks and teaches you not to be afraid of what your body is feeling and that it’s not harmful. There may be some form of exposure therapy.

For anxiety, the focus may be on relaxation techniques to calm the anxious thoughts. This is also good for panic attack sufferers as learning to relax will help in a difficult situation.

The bottom line is that both panic and anxiety are treatable and the outcome is generally very good. Stay positive and motivated and you’re well on your way to recovery.

Often children are unable to cope with the stress and anxieties that are put upon them. As a result of this, anxiety disorders and panic attacks are one of the most common mental health issues affecting our children today.

Panic attacks and anxiety attacks go hand in hand. The most common anxiety related panic attacks suffered by children is GAD, which stands for Generalised Anxiety Disorder. In children it is usually due to excessive worrying. They may worry about everyday events, and events that will take place sometime in the future. Health may be a worry, performance at school, performance in after school activities, and friendships etc. Often children will worry so much that it interferes with their daily lives and they may find it a problem sleeping which in turn creates other health problems.

Children, adolescents and adults with a panic attack disorder have unexpected and repeated periods of intense fear or discomfort, along with other symptoms such as a racing heartbeat or feeling short of breath. These periods are called “panic attacks” and last minutes to hours. They frequently develop without warning.

What should you do during an attack ?It is best to accept that the panic attack is embarrassing and unpleasant. It is best not to try and fight it but to accept that it is happening. If you try and fight it you may become more fearful and feel more out of control and this could make the attack worse. Try to remember that it will finish and it won’t kill you.

Panic Attacks are a common and treatable disorder, so do not despair. Modern techniques are available as long as you know where to look. It’s not advisable to treat these conditions with drugs until you have investigated all the other possible treatments. Drugs always carry a risk of unpleasant side effects, so beware. Treatment for children’s panic attacks is available right now.
Anxiety is a complex mechanism that is triggered to help us deal with many of our day to day activities. Therefore anxiety is a normal reaction to stressful situations that people experience. However anxiety can become overwhelming and dominating, that is the exact point when it becomes what medics call ‘chronic anxiety’.

The most common symptoms of anxiety are severe headaches, sweating, dizziness, trembling, or muscle cramps, fear and embarrassment about yourself for no apparent reasons. Sufferers often wonder.. if there is any cure for anxiety.

Either you go through a very stressful situation at work, or on your way to the supermarket, anxiety and panic attacks may hit you at any moment, this is why a cure for anxiety is what you’re looking for. Anxiety can really affect someone’s social and intimate life. It’s incredibly important that you first learn how to cope with anxiety.

There are many methods and techniques that can help you overcome anxiety, such as medication which may be recommended to you by your psychiatrist in order to help you reduce your symptoms. Several other techniques may include therapy, relaxation techniques, acupuncture, light therapy etc.

Anxiety attacks will not be cured using medication. They only help the sufferer to reduce the levels of anxiety. The most common medications that are prescribed for anxiety sufferers are antidepressants. But are they the cure for anxiety? There are a few disadvantages when taking medication. The main one is that they are highly addictive and their bad side effects if taken on long periods of time.

When do you experience anxiety and panic attacks?

Is it in public places, public transportation, maybe when you go for a walk in the park, when you go to the supermarket, or is it when you’re going to work? Anxiety and panic attacks can be cured, no one has to go on with them for the rest of their life.

The cure for anxiety is at your finger tips, all you need is to find the right method that will work for you and try to distract your mind by doing something pleasant and leave the past behind.

As you might well know, anxiety is a serious illness but it can be cured.

It is a fact that anxiety and panic attacks can strike at any time or any place. For those of us who are prone to them, they can take over their lives. For people who have had more than one panic attack, the fear that another will occur can be debilitating.

So, that it is clear what a panic or anxiety attack is, here is a list of the sorts of feelings which are commonly reported during these periods:

–A feeling that the world is closing in on you

–Strangely dizzy sensations

–A heartbeat that is pounding, much, much faster than usual

–Possibly a tingling in your chest

–Sweating

–An inability to concentrate.

Also, very commonly people suffer an acute fear of dying during the panic attack. Don\’t worry – you won\’t die though, nobody does.

A number of studies are ongoing to research into the causes, prevention, and treatment of anxiety disorders and other similar psychological disorders. Medical experts are particularly keen to understand how genetic factors and family background combine with life experiences to put a person at risk for these disorders. New drugs are being tested by these Health Institutions in clinical trials, as well as therapy approaches.

Some say that our children are more likely to suffer from panic attacks than the kids of non-panic-ers. They say that there does seem to be a genetic basis. In this area like so many others it is useful to study genetic twins. Some web articles say that in almost half of the cases of identical twins with panic both twins are affected. But, we should not dismiss the fact that behavioral learning may also play a role. That means, if I put it in a more simple way, that our children are likely to follow in our steps if we show anxiety to the extent of panic.

Now let me at this point just say, that if you do think you are starting an episode of anxiety which might develop into a panic attack, take care to remove yourself from dangerous situations. Do this especially if you might become, for a while, a danger to others. The obvious example here is that if you are driving, then stop and only start again once you are feeling better less stressed. If that means asking for help – so be it. Your friends and family will help you.

I am not a medic but I, like very many people, see self help as the starting point in finding a way to heal anxiety and panic attacks, as long as there is no biological cause (and you should consult your medical advisor in the first instance of course about this).

Instead of looking for exotic cures, try the simple things first. If something drug free and low cost, requiring only your time and participation works, then you will not need to look further.

One of the first and simplest things of all to do is to begin to keep a diary of all the situations that trigger panic attacks. That will mean that later you will know how often, when and where, they happened.

We listed common experiences during an attack earlier so write down each type of feeling that you experienced. What were you doing when is started and thinking, feeling at that time? Again, later you will know what the symptoms were.

Why do this you say? Well, a psychologist would I think say that the act of recording and describing each attack will help to put you in charge of the situation. You will also in later review of the information be able deduce how modifying your environment might help prevent future anxiety attacks.

We recommend that you check out the following self-help mini e-learning series: Panic Away, by Joe Barry. He suffered from Panic and Anxiety himself for years, until he managed to hit on one technique that is an almost fail-safe guarantee to rid you of your panic and anxiety.

2: What Causes Panic Attacks and Choosing Panic Attack Treatment

First let us be sure we know what a panic attack is. In physiological terms panic attacks almost always involve the body producing an excess of adrenaline. It is the effect of this suddenly entering into your system, in combination with several other related emotional factors going on within your psyche.

The underlying cause of panic attacks varies for everyone that suffers, and is still open to debate, but the precise cause quite naturally does seem to vary from person to person. Some panic attacks seem to come on unexpectedly, and this is certainly the case for everyone\’s our first attack. Other anxieties may build up over time for some people and certainly many are most likely triggered later, after a traumatic event. The type of traumatic event varies widely but a good example would be a car accident. Others anxiety/panic attacks turn out to be situation-specific and an attack is frequently triggered if a certain pattern of circumstances recurs for the individual.

Medications such as Klonopin and Zoloft have been prescribed for the alleviation of these attacks. A lady said that she has taken these drugs for her anxiety, and at one time she was free from symptoms for more than 10 years, but the problem came back. She took no medication and it went away again.

Those who study panic attacks find that the attacks commonly occur in clusters. That is, plural episodes for several weeks or months followed by several months to years of joyful absence of the problem. Attacks do tend to be more prevalent in some families and we have been told that attacks are often reduced with SRI drugs like Zoloft.

Attacks of this sort can also be distressing problem for children, although mercifully only rarely. I\’m not a pediatrician so I can\’t tell you the incidence of panic attacks in kids, but according to web information seen, it seems pretty small. Usually, panic attacks do not start until in the late teens, but it can start earlier.

Counseling can be available for confronting the problem and reducing the anxiety that can produce a panic attack. It is also, of course, suitable for a wide range of conditions such as bereavement or marital problems. Counseling is an excellent approach and it is well proven that it helps many people every day live through difficult stages of their life.

However, when dealing with this particular problem counseling may not be needed if simple web based and trained techniques are applied to remove the suffering. One e-course we would like to recommend is seeing fabulous results as a leader in Stress Relief products. You have nothing to lose by applying. Do this and you will go one stage further before using drugs, and don\’t forget that you can combine hypnosis with counseling and then it becomes possible to work at a considerably deeper level and overcome even the most entrenched panic attacks.

We recommend that you check out the following self-help guide to Control Panic Attack: Panic Away, by Joe Barry. He has suffered from Panic and Anxiety himself for years, until he managed to hit on one technique that is an almost fail-safe guarantee to rid you of your panic and anxiety. Panic Away treats the panic attacks (anxiety attacks) and then shows you how to deal with general anxiety or GAD as it is called.

You’re short of breath. You’re heart won’t stop racing, you’re unbelievably tense, and you feel like you can’t breathe. What is wrong with you? Why do you feel this way? What is a “Panic Attack”? A panic attack occurs when the body gets overloaded with stress. It cannot handle the anxiety it is being put under, and so then it manifests itself into what is termed a “Panic Attack”.

Learning to cope with the panic attacks, can be very difficult in the beginning. You must learn to keep your fears from getting worse and out of control if nothing else. Realize that you are in complete control of the given situation. There are some steps you can take to prepare right now, before you have your next attack. These steps can make dealing with the next occurrence significantly easier.

Try to think about the most relaxing and peaceful place you have ever been. Try to remember with every sense of your body the way it made you feel. Capture that feeling in your minds eye and tell yourself to allow your body to feel that way right now. Keep up these visuals while inhaling and exhaling deep breaths. Soon you will begin to feel the stress and anxiety leave you as it is replaced by a relaxed and calm feeling.
