Relief from Panic Attacks and Depression

About 5% of Americans is afflicted with panic attacks and depression. People that get depressed tend to also have higher levels of anxiety and may also suffer from panic attacks. People suffering from anxiety disorders may not seek medical care because they are often fearful that they could get diagnosed with a heart or lung disorder since the symptoms of anxiety attacks are often described as feeling like a heart attack.

People that suffer from panic attacks and depression, but who are not diagnosed for both conditions, will continue to suffer until both are diagnosed and an effective treatment regimen is put into place. Depression is hard to spot at times, but once you know you have it you should really do everything that you can to try to recover from it.

It is common for depressed people to feel sad, alone, chronic boredom, or even unloved. You could have difficulty with insomnia and higher amounts of anxiety if you are depressed. You might have constant panic or anxiety disorders if you experience this higher level of anxiety for a sustained time. If you suffer from constant anxiety attacks you might begin to associate them to specific places or things and develop a phobia for those places or things. Add depression into the mix with all the helpless and hopeless thoughts, and you’ll soon find yourself in a very bad state.

Doctors and psychologists are finding that depression and panic disorders often occur together more often than initially though. It is fairly easy to understand why both anxiety disorders and depression could come together. These days, doctors often prescribe anti-depressants to help ease both panic conditions and depression.

A good amount of people with depression are not even aware that they are depressed. If one of these people has an anxiety attack, they may find themselves very fearful. It might think that you are about to die or that you are going through a heart attack. With depression you might find that you are too afraid to look for help. If you don’t know what is happening to you, your anxiety levels will skyrocket higher and make things even worse.

If you have a anxiety episode, you might just brush it off and think nothing of it until you experience a second panic episode. If you have both anxiety attack and depression, know that you’re not by yourself. It is easy to start feeling overwhelmed and start worrying about nearly everything. You might even start to think that things are so bad that there is no hope for recovery and treatment would just be pointless.

Therapy options for panic conditions and depression can be quite powerful though. You might need to use a little medication to get the panic and depression to a reasonable level while you work through any psychological problems. But with some time and will power you will soon recover from panic attacks and depression.
